Altun: “Our healthcare professionals set an example to the world with their achievements”

Director of Communications Fahrettin Altun said, “Today, we better comprehend the importance of our investment in our healthcare system with the vision and leadership of our President. Our healthcare professionals set an example to the world with their sacrifices and achievements. We are waging a successful struggle. However, our struggle is not over yet.”

In a thread on his Twitter account, Altun shared a video consisting of the messages of healthcare professionals who have taken part in the fight against Covid-19 and the patients who have been treated at Prof. Cemil Taşcıoğlu City Hospital and Sultangazi Haseki Education Research Hospital.

In his post, Director of Communications Altun said: “Today, we better comprehend the importance of our investment in our healthcare system with the vision and leadership of our President. Our healthcare professionals set an example to the world with their sacrifices and achievements. We are waging a successful struggle. However, our struggle is not over yet.”

In the video which includes the images from Prof. Cemil Taşcıoğlu City Hospital and Sultangazi Haseki Education Research Hospital, healthcare professionals point out that the Covid-19 threat is not over yet. 

In the video, the physicians warn citizens by saying: “Turkey is managing this process very well. There is a significant decline in the spread of the virus, but this is definitely not an excuse for us to let our guard down. It is an ongoing process that has not ended yet.”

Prof. Hakan Gürbüz, Chief Physician of Prof. Cemil Taşcıoğlu City Hospital, indicated in the video that they started the first preparations against the pandemic on March 4 and provided information about the initiatives, saying: “I am proud to be the son of such a state and nation. Our hospital has a bed capacity of 1,550. We have received state support that was large enough to supply intensive care equipment with 181 beds in one night, and we have not experienced any issues later either.”

In the video, Covid-19 patients and their relatives also stated that they were given very good care, and expressed their gratitude to healthcare professionals.
