Altun: “Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University is an international brand in education, a centre of attraction in science, a real asset for society and the business world”

Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University (KTMU) founded by Turkey in Kyrgyzstan in 1995 produced its 19th term graduates this year.

KTMU, which has been conducting an online education program since March as part of the measures taken against the coronavirus (Covid-19), organized an online graduation ceremony for its senior students.

Attending the online graduation program organized by the Media Centre of the University via video message, Director of Communications and the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of KTMU Prof. Fahrettin Altun, Kyrgyzstan Deputy Minister of Education and Science Nurlan Omurov, Turkey’s Ambassador to Bishkek Kamil Cengiz Fırat, Rector of KTMU Prof. Sebahattin Balcı and Deputy Rector of KTMU Asylbek Kulmyrzaev both congratulated and gave advices to the graduates.

During the ceremony which began with the performance of the national anthems of the two countries, Kyrgyz and Turkish students, Lira Akılbekova and Ercan Özkaya, who are among the new graduates of KTMU, took an oath and kissed the flag of the country.

Director of Communications Altun congratulated the graduates of the university, their families, and academic staff and said, “The seeds sown by Turkey and Kyrgyzstan will take hold more strongly and more vigorously. We will create a tradition that will last for centuries both for the two countries, the region and the world with the students we raise and the academic, scientific and technological studies and we will make a distinguished name for ourselves.”​

Noting that the international character of the University has been currently laid out with graduates who are employed in 43 countries in 5 continents, Altun said, “Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University is an international brand in education, a centre of attraction in science, a real asset for society and the business world and a model university for internationalization.”

Altun underlined that the progress of Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University, which is one of the leading universities in Central Asia, in higher education day by day was a cause of pride for them.

Stressing that Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University is a higher education institution of critical importance both for Kyrgyzstan and Turkey, Altun noted that the University acted as a bridge that strengthens the bond between Anatolia and Central Asia.

Stating that the university had more than 9 thousand graduates in 25 years, Deputy Minister of Science and Education Nurlan Omurov congratulated the 19th term graduates.

Turkey’s Ambassador to Bishkek Fırat also expressed his faith in the graduates in promoting the bridge of friendship between them and Kyrgyzstan and Turkey.

Articulating that the University had had 9 thousand 404 graduates since its foundation, Rector Prof. Sebahattin Balcı said, “Families, we are returning your children that you had entrusted with us as young adults who have become professionals, self-confident, hopeful for the future and zealous to a degree to make a living the hard way. Thank you very much for giving us the opportunity to crown the effort by combining your efforts with ours. May the path and the fortune of today’s graduates be open. Have a bright future. May God lead you to countless days of success with health, peace, and happiness.”
