Altun: “An unfinished ‘Revolution’ to be finalized thanks to Turkey’s Automobile”

Director of Communications Fahrettin Altun said that an unfinished “Revolution” would be realized thanks to Turkey’s Automobile, adding, “There is no reason why another Elon Musk should not emerge from our country. I hope Turkey’s Automobile will be auspicious.”

Altun authored an article titled “An Unfinished Revolution to be finalized thanks to Turkey’s Automobile” on his microblog platform Medium account.

Reiterating that Turkey witnessed one of the most important breakthroughs in the history of the republic in the last week of 2019 and “Turkey’s Automobile” that created repercussions in Turkey and around the world was promoted, Altun made the following remarks:

“In fact, it would be more accurate to say that a giant step was taken in order to finalize a delayed story, dating back to 58 years, with a happy ending. Turkey could have produced its own car much earlier, just as it could have built its own national industry, developed its own weapons in defense industry and invested in domestic technology. Nevertheless, all these steps have been unfortunately blocked by some people or by various interest groups. People producing ideas for these lands have been declared dreamers.”

“Turkey turning unimaginable ideas into reality”

Underlining that Turkey had failed to make good use of the human potential that it had for many years and remained a foreign-dependent country in many sectors, Altun said: "As a result, the step that has been taken to successfully finalize the story of the unfinished Revolution should be considered as one of the most important steps towards the transformation of mentality."

Altun emphasized that since 2002 Turkey had achieved everything that was said to be impossible, completed major projects and turned unimaginable ideas into reality, indicating that Turkey’s Automobile would be one of the greatest symbols of this transformation of mentality.  Altun continued his article as follows:

"All the property rights and engineering of our first indigenous and national car belong to this land. It will thus be the best response to the mentality claiming ‘we cannot achieve it; we cannot compete with large companies.’ Therefore, it is worthy that our automobile, the mass production of which is planned to commence in the short term, has made our people excited and that all segments of the society have embraced it.”

"We have a decisive political will and a determined leader "

Fahrettin Altun underlined that Turkey took steps to reduce its foreign-dependency under the leadership of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and also noted that Turkey was a country that made breakthroughs for its indigenous defense systems and brought today’s technology together with different ideas thanks to technoparks established.

The promotion of Turkey’s Automobile has had a broad repercussion in foreign media as well. Altun said that the promotion of Turkey’s Automobile revealed the size of the initiative and its importance for the automotive sector, adding the following:

"The people of this land has always had great ideas and great dreams. However, for years, the political will that will make these dreams come true, the media that will embrace these ideas and the companies that will invest have ignored these people. Yet, there is no reason why another Elon Musk should not emerge from our country. I hope Turkey’s Automobile will be auspicious. Together we will build a Turkey that defends democracy and law, having self-confidence and investing in technology while following the developments around the world. Today, we are so lucky to have a decisive political will and a determined leader."
