Joint agreements were signed between Türkiye and Algeria in the presence of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and President Abdelmadjid Tebboune of Algeria.
Following the tête-à-tête meeting between President Erdoğan and President Tebboune, as well as their co-chairing of the First Meeting of the High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council, the joint agreements between the two countries were signed.
Within this framework, President Erdoğan and President Tebboune signed the “Joint Declaration of the First Meeting of the High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council.”
Agreements
The “Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation in the Fields of Postal Services and Telecommunications between the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure of the Republic of Türkiye and the Ministry of Post and Telecommunications of the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria” was signed by Minister of Foreign Affairs Hakan Fidan and Algerian Minister of State, Minister of Foreign Affairs, National Community Abroad and African Affairs Ahmed Attaf.
The “Agreement on International Transportation of Passengers and Goods between the Government of the Republic of Türkiye and the Government of the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria” was signed by Minister of Foreign Affairs Hakan Fidan and Algerian Minister of Interior, Local Authorities and Transport Said Sayoud.
The “Memorandum of Understanding on the Welfare of Veterans of the War of Independence and the Beneficiaries of Martyrs between the Government of the Republic of Türkiye and the Government of the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria” was signed by Minister of Family and Social Services Mahinur Özdemir Göktaş and Algerian Minister of State, Minister of Foreign Affairs, National Community Abroad and African Affairs Ahmed Attaf.
The “Agreement on the Mutual Recognition and Exchange of Driving Licences between the Government of the Republic of Türkiye and the Government of the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria” was signed by Minister of Interior Mustafa Çiftçi and Algerian Minister of Interior, Local Authorities and Transport Said Sayoud.
The “Memorandum of Understanding in the Field of Disaster and Emergency Management between the Ministry of Interior of the Republic of Türkiye and the Ministry of Interior, Local Authorities and Transport of the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria” was signed by Minister of Interior Mustafa Çiftçi and Algerian Minister of Interior, Local Authorities and Transport Said Sayoud.
Minister of Industry and Technology Mehmet Fatih Kacır and Algerian Minister of Industry Yahia Bachir signed the “Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Industry and Technology of the Republic of Türkiye and the Ministry of Industry of the People's Democratic Republic of Algeria.”
The “Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation in the Fields of Standardisation, Conformity Assessment and Training between the Ministry of Industry and Technology of the Republic of Türkiye and the Ministry of Industry of the People's Democratic Republic of Algeria” was signed by Minister of Industry and Technology Mehmet Fatih Kacır and Algerian Minister of Industry Yahia Bachir.
The “Agreement on Cooperation in the Field of Plant Protection and Plant Quarantine between the Government of the Republic of Türkiye and the Government of the People's Democratic Republic of Algeria” was signed by Minister of Agriculture and Forestry İbrahim Yumaklı and Algerian Minister of Agriculture, Rural Development and Fisheries Yacine El Mahdi Oualid.
Minister of Trade Ömer Bolat and Algerian Minister of Foreign Trade and Export Promotion Kamel Rezig signed the “Joint Declaration on the Launch of Negotiations to Sign a Preferential Trade Agreement between the Ministry of Trade of the Republic of Türkiye and the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Export Promotion of the People's Democratic Republic of Algeria.”
The “Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation between the Directorate of Communications of the Presidency of the Republic of Türkiye and the Ministry of Communication of the People's Democratic Republic of Algeria in the Field of Combating Media Disinformation” was signed by Head of Communications Burhanettin Duran and Algerian Minister of State, Minister of Foreign Affairs, National Community Abroad and African Affairs Ahmed Attaf.
President of the Investment and Finance Office of the Presidency of the Republic of Türkiye, Ahmet Burak Dağlıoğlu, and Director General of the Algerian Agency for Investment Promotion Omar Rekkache signed the “Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation in Investment Promotion between the Investment and Finance Office of the Presidency of the Republic of Türkiye and the Algerian Agency for Investment Promotion of the People's Democratic Republic of Algeria.”
The “Memorandum of Understanding in the Field of Television between the Algerian Radio Authority (EPRS - Public Sound Broadcasting Establishment) and the Turkish Radio and Television Corporation (TRT)” was signed by TRT Director General Mehmet Zahid Sobacı and Algeria’s Ambassador to Türkiye Boumediene Guennad.
The “Memorandum of Understanding in the Field of Radio between the Algerian Radio Authority (EPRS - Public Sound Broadcasting Establishment) and the Turkish Radio and Television Corporation (TRT)” was signed by TRT Director General Mehmet Zahid Sobacı and Algeria’s Ambassador to Türkiye Boumediene Guennad.
Meanwhile, the Presidency’s Head of Communications, Burhanettin Duran, shared a post on his NSosyal account regarding the signing of the “Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation between the Directorate of Communications of the Presidency of the Republic of Türkiye and the Ministry of Communication of the People's Democratic Republic of Algeria in the Field of Combating Media Disinformation.”
Head of Communications Duran stated the following in his post:
“We continue to strengthen our international cooperation in combating disinformation.
In the presence of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and President Abdelmadjid Tebboune of the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria, I signed the Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation in the Field of Combating Media Disinformation together with Algerian Minister of Foreign Affairs Ahmed Attaf.
Through this memorandum, we aim to enhance knowledge and expertise exchange in the fields of disinformation, fake news, and fact-checking, strengthen mutual cooperation, and carry out joint initiatives.
I believe that this cooperation will contribute to the strong relations between Türkiye and the friendly and brotherly nation of Algeria, and I hope that it will prove beneficial for both countries.”
