A letter of thanks to President Erdoğan from Emel Adra, fourth generation granddaughter of Sultan Abdülhamid

The fourth generation granddaughter of Sultan Abdülhamid, Emel Adra, who overcame the coronavirus in Lebanon's capital Beirut with the treatment she received after Turkey intervened and switched her hospital, wrote a letter of thanks to President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

Türkiye intervened for the treatment of Adra, who had coronavirus in Beirut. The health status of Adra, whose hospital where she was treated in Beirut was changed, was followed minute by minute. Writing a letter to President Erdoğan when she recovered, Adra noted the following:

"After I caught Covid-19, I received treatment at the Beirut American Hospital between August 14 and September 19, 2020, mostly in the intensive care unit. I am grateful for your support during this period. Although we are in distant lands, it is an honour for us to feel your and the state's interest. To have a place in hearts after the exile is a source of pride on my behalf. I would like to express my gratitude to especially your family, Minister of Foreign Affairs Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Yavuz Selim Kıran, Turkish Ambassador to Beirut Hakan Çakıl, Consul-General Didem Büyükarslan and Ambassador's Secretary Joyce Haddad for their close attention and support. As our beloved Prophet said, 'He who does not thank people is not thankful to Allah'. I wanted to write the letter in my own handwriting, however, I could not use my right hand for a while when I was discharged. That's why my letter is delayed. We pray for your success. May Allah keep you with us. I present my deepest respect and affection. May Allah be with you."
