Addressing HAK-IS General Assembly, President Erdoğan said: “We will adjust the lowest public servant salary in a manner that will not be less than the lowest public worker wage. By raising the lowest salary to TL15 thousand, as has been the case for public workers, we will make similar increases in proportion to inflation, including welfare share. Thus, the lowest public servant salary will approximate TL22 thousand. These increases in salaries will automatically reflect on their pensions as well.”
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan delivered a speech at HAK-IS Trade Union Confederation’s Ordinary General Assembly.
Underscoring that they have never allowed workers to be crushed under inflation whatever the global economic situation is or Türkiye’s financial conditions are, President Erdoğan said: “We have stood by all the segments of our society, from pensioners to public servants, citizens with disabilities to ghazis and relatives of martyrs. As our economy has grown bigger, we have ensured that our entire nation get what they deserve from the added value emerged. What is more, we have maintained this sensitivity of ours despite the serious challenges and natural disasters experienced by our country, global economic crises, or the conflicts in our region.”
Stating that they have recently increased the lowest public worker wage from some TL12 thousand to over 21 thousand, President Erdoğan added that they will take another step in July, and noted: “We will adjust the lowest public servant salary in a manner that will not be less than the lowest public worker wage. By raising the lowest salary to TL15 thousand, as has been the case for public workers, we will make similar increases in proportion to inflation, including welfare share. Thus, the lowest public servant salary will approximate TL22 thousand. These increases in salaries will automatically reflect on their pensions as well.”
