Türkiye’s sea-based UCAV makes its maiden flight

BAYKAR has completed the maiden flight of the TB-3 integrated surveillance-reconnaissance and assault drone as Türkiye marks the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Republic.

The TB-3, which can be deployed on the aircraft carrier Anadolu, has piqued the interest of the international community.

The construction of the aircraft carrier Anadolu started in 2016. Originally envisaged as a light aircraft carrier with the capacity to accommodate F-35B fighter jets, the vessel was formally commissioned in April.

The TB-3 UCAV is based on the TB-2 UCAV and has a maximum flight speed of 296 kilometres per hour and a maximum airtime of more than 24 hours.

Mass production of the TB-3 is expected to start in 2024.
