The PARS ALPHA 8×8 armoured fighting vehicle manufactured by a Turkish defence company attracted attention at the "World Defence Show 2024" in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia.
The company's CEO stated that the new generation armoured fighting vehicle will meet the ever-changing needs of modern battlefields.
The PARS ALPHA 8×8 is a vehicle measuring 7.8 metres in length, 3.1 metres in width, 2.4 metres in height, and approximately 34 tonnes in total weight. The ground clearance of the vehicle can be adjusted when used in risky areas.
The vehicle's speed can go over 115 kilometres per hour thanks to its power system and advanced suspension system, and its operational range is higher than 800 kilometres.
The PARS ALPHA 8×8 armoured fighting vehicle is equipped with a 360-degree high-level situational awareness system and an in-vehicle navigation system. The vehicle has a two-seater driver's cabin, and nine passengers can observe the situation outside via an onboard observation device.
The current 30 mm cannon can be replaced with a 40 mm barrel, keeping the basic components and the stock intact. This convertible weapon of choice enables the user to upgrade its firepower with minimum effort, when and wherever required. A 7.62mm chain gun or MAG machine gun can be coaxially mounted aligned with the main gun.
Both the turret and remote-controlled weapon system (RCWS) are designed to engage multiple targets simultaneously from all directions.
Anti-tank missiles on both sides of the turret ensure the elimination of different threats at a range of 4 kilometres. The remote-controlled weapon system, capable of mounting a 7.62 mm or 5.56 mm machine gun, can be used against drones.
The Turkish defence company announced that the PARS ALPHA 8×8 armoured fighting vehicle will be part of the upcoming tender by the Turkish army and will also be exported to international markets in the future.
