According to the Embassy of Türkiye in the Republic of Korea, the event was held by the Turkish delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE). The exhibition will remain open to visitors until 30 January, throughout the PACE winter session, and aims to introduce Türkiye's deeply rooted weaving tradition to the international community.
The exhibition features vibrant textiles produced through environmentally friendly methods using natural fibres and local raw materials, along with miniature looms and traditional weaving tools.
As part of the "Fabric Atlas of Türkiye" project organised under the auspices of First Lady Emine Erdoğan, a message from First Lady Emine Erdoğan was read during the event. In her message, First Lady Emine Erdoğan expressed satisfaction with the exhibition's role in conveying Anatolia's centuries-old weaving heritage to the international community, highlighting its historical depth and artistic richness. Emphasising the importance of safeguarding cultural heritage and promoting dialogue among societies, First Lady Emine Erdoğan underlined that such initiatives contribute to preserving humanity’s shared values.
Addressing the opening ceremony, Deputy Secretary General of the Council of Europe Bjorn Berge noted that Türkiye stands out for its rich cultural diversity and traditional patterns. Head of the Turkish Delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (PABSEC), Fatih Dönmez, stated that the exhibition aligns with the principles of protecting Türkiye’s cultural heritage and promoting environmental responsibility.
Member of the Turkish Delegation to the Council of Europe and AK Party Member of Parliament for Ankara, Zeynep Yıldız, remarked that the exhibition represents a synthesis of centuries-old cultural interactions and Turkish culture, in harmony with the founding principles of the Council of Europe.
The exhibition, attended by numerous members of parliament and invited guests, attracted significant interest from visitors.
