Türkiye–Kyrgyzstan trade volume surpasses $1.5 billion (Fars News Agency)

According to a statement by the Embassy of Türkiye in Kyrgyzstan, bilateral trade between the two countries reached $1.5 billion in 2024, marking a 5 percent increase. 

Based on 2024 data, the Embassy of Türkiye in Kyrgyzstan reported that the trade volume between the two countries increased by 5 percent, reaching $1.5 billion. 

Accordingly, Türkiye’s investments in Kyrgyzstan have risen to over $1.4 billion. Approximately 350 Turkish companies are operating in the country across various sectors, including construction, energy, transportation, tourism, and mining. 

Through the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA), more than 1,000 projects worth $88 million have been implemented. Türkiye’s total development assistance has surpassed $1 billion. Among these projects are the Recep Tayyip Erdoğan Hospital in Bishkek, a Scientific Innovation Centre, and a fish production facility in Özgön. 

Education remains a priority area of cooperation.  A network of schools affiliated with the Türkiye Maarif Foundation operates in Kyrgyzstan, with approximately 16,700 students enrolled.  

Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University has been ranked among the world’s top 1,000 universities.  Over the years, Türkiye has provided more than 5,000 scholarships to Kyrgyz students; in 2025 alone, 345 students enrolled in Türkiye’s scholarship programme. 

The Kyrgyz-Turkish Hospital in Bishkek treated approximately 56,000 patients and performed more than 1,000 surgical operations within a year, including 10 successful organ transplants. 

The Turkish Embassy also highlighted cultural cooperation, noting the opening of a Yunus Emre Cultural Centre and Türkiye’s continued support for theological institutions in the Osh region.
