Eighteen instruments on cooperation between the ministries of Türkiye and Uzbekistan, as well as a joint declaration on deepening the comprehensive strategic partnership, were signed by the two countries. The signing ceremony took place in Ankara following a meeting between President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan of Türkiye and President Shavkat Mirziyoyev of Uzbekistan.
During the press conference, Erdoğan stated, "We have signed several agreements. They will enable us to diversify our areas of cooperation and consolidate our contractual basis. We are pleased to observe the steady rise in Turkish investments in Uzbekistan. With these steps, I believe we can achieve our target of boosting trade turnover to 5 billion dollars as quickly as feasible. Under Mirziyoyev's leadership, Uzbekistan has become a centre of attraction in the region."
The signed documents comprise a variety of protocols of intent and protocols on cooperation between the two countries' ministries. Agreements were signed with ministries of commerce, agriculture, energy, culture, and tourism, as well as other government agencies and services. In addition, Türkiye's Ministry of Industry and Technology and Uzbekistan's Ministry of Digital Technology inked a protocol of intent to cooperate in the fields of peaceful use of space, space sciences, and technology.
Erdoğan also stated that later, he would be decorating Mirziyoyev with the Order of the Republic of Türkiye, the highest state honour.
