Turkish President Tayyip Erdoğan said in a meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump that advancing cooperation in the defense industry would help hit a $100 billion bilateral trade volume target, the Turkish Presidency said early on Wednesday.
Erdoğan also told Trump that Türkiye and the United States have great potential in various sectors, including energy and investments, according to a readout by the Turkish presidency shared on X.
The presidency also said Erdoğan welcomed the Iran-Israel ceasefire achieved through U.S. efforts and emphasized the importance of dialogue in ending the humanitarian tragedy in Gaza.
