Türkiye tests training and combat aircraft

President of Defence Industries of Türkiye, İsmail Demir, announced on social media that Türkiye’s first domestic fighter aircraft and light combat aircraft have departed the hangar.

The Hürjet aircraft was designed by Turkish Aerospace Industries (TAI). The maximum speed of the aircraft, which has a length of 13.4 meters and a wingspan of 11 meters, has been announced as Mach 1.4.

Hürjet will replace the Air Force Command's T-38 and F-5 aircraft used in aerobatic demonstrations.

TAI plans to produce two flyable prototype aircraft, one static and one fatigue test aircraft, for use in test activities as part of this project.

It was noted that Hürjet aircraft could also be used to train pilots for TF-X fighters.
