At the Extraordinary Summit of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) in Ankara, Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu stated that Türkiye supports increased cooperation with the Trans-Anatolian Natural Gas Pipeline (TANAP) to carry additional natural gas from the Caspian region to the international markets.
Çavuşoğlu stated, "Our role in the global energy equation is growing in importance. We have implemented large-scale energy projects such as the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan oil pipeline and TANAP together. We should increase cooperation for TANAP to carry additional natural gas from the Caspian region to the international market."
The trilateral memorandum of understanding signed by Türkiye, Azerbaijan, and Turkmenistan is significant in this regard, according to Çavuşoğlu.
