Türkiye says country’s press can work freely in Ukraine conflict zone

Republic of Türkiye, Head of  Communications Fahrettin Altun stated that Turkish journalists fulfilled their responsibilities in the Russia-Ukraine conflict zone freely and honestly owing to diplomatic efforts.

In a locally televised speech, Altun said “The fact that our country has become an element of trust as a result of its diplomatic efforts and fair approach has also made it possible for our reporters working in the Russia-Ukraine war zone to perform their profession and provide a fair and just news flow.

"Both sides offer opportunities to our reporters, who they deem honest and reliable, so the journalists are able to work in the lines of fire, where the mass media of other countries are not present.” Altun noted.

Altun recalled that Ankara aims at the immediate restoration of “just peace” between Russia and Ukraine and that it was made possible “through the trust it has garnered from both parties as a result of its righteous stance”.
