Türkiye denies suspending negotiations with Russia over gas hub

Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Alparslan Bayraktar stated that negotiations regarding the establishment of a gas hub in Türkiye are ongoing. According to him, there was a brief pause due to the devastating earthquake, but Russia and Türkiye are currently continuing negotiations.

Yesterday, on September 14, Reuters, citing sources, reported that the establishment of a gas hub in Türkiye to supply Russian gas to Europe was suspended. According to the agency, this was due to a disagreement over who should be in charge of the facility.

The Presidents of Russia and Türkiye discussed the gas issue at their meeting in Sochi on September 4. Vladimir Putin said Russia's natural gas exports to Türkiye exceeded 10 billion cubic metres in eight months.
