Türkiye denies allegations of involvement in war in favour of Iran (Amwal Al-Ghad)

The Centre for Combating Disinformation, affiliated with the Directorate of Communications of the Presidency of the Republic of Türkiye, refuted claims circulating on some social media platforms that “Türkiye will join the war in support of Iran or intervene in Lebanon,” emphasising that these claims are unfounded and constitute disinformation.

The Centre for Combating Disinformation stated that the Republic of Türkiye has not been a party to the war since the outset of the crisis, and under the leadership of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, it is pursuing active diplomatic engagement to bring an immediate end to hostilities, prevent further escalation, and secure a lasting peace.

In the statement made by the Centre, it was noted that “Türkiye’s diplomatic role in bringing the tension under control is appreciated by all actors, especially the conflicting parties.”

The Centre also noted that such misleading content is also part of broader psychological warfare efforts, intended to damage Türkiye’s international standing and undermine its constructive role in addressing the crisis.

The statement called on the domestic and international public not to give credence to unfounded claims and to rely solely on official statements issued by competent authorities.
