Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, in a speech he delivered in Antalya, said that Türkiye will not tolerate any attempt to plunge Syria into instability.
During his keynote speech at the opening ceremony of the 4th Antalya Diplomacy Forum, President Erdoğan condemned Israel's recent air strikes on Syria and said that such attacks threaten regional peace and stability.
Erdoğan also stated that Israel is trying to fuel sectarian and ethnic conflicts within Syria.
Erdoğan reiterated Türkiye's firm support for the new Syrian administration in their efforts to rebuild the country and preserve Syria's sovereignty and territorial integrity, saying, "We will not allow the opportunity to establish lasting stability in Syria and across the entire region to go to waste."
Referring to Israel's ongoing military operation in the Gaza Strip, Erdoğan said that as long as the "state terrorism" perpetrated by Israel in the Gaza Strip continues, it will be impossible to achieve lasting peace in the Middle East.
Erdoğan stressed that the "two-state solution" is the only way to resolve the Israeli-Palestinian issue.
The Antalya Diplomacy Forum was first held in 2021, and this year's three-day forum will be held under the theme "Reclaiming Diplomacy in a Fragmented World." More than 4,000 guests will attend the forum, including more than 20 heads of state and government, over 120 ministers, approximately 60 senior representatives of international organisations, and well-known experts, academics, businessmen, and businesswomen.
