Turkish Airlines (THY) has been ranked first in the category of “Best Airline in Europe” for 2025 by the SKYTRAX World Airline Awards.
According to the published ranking, THY outperformed leading airlines such as Air France, British Airways, and Lufthansa of Germany. THY's CEO Bilal Ekşi said in a social media post, “We are the champions of Europe. The Best Airline in Europe is Turkish Airlines."
This achievement has also strengthened Türkiye's position in the aviation sector. Türkiyeranks sixth in Europe for overall air traffic volume with an average of 4,200 flights per day, according to EUROCONTROL data.
İstanbul Airport has been recognised as the busiest airport in Europe, with an average of 1,624 flights per day, and the fifth busiest airport in the world. Moreover, Antalya Airport ranked ninth among the top ten airports in Europe with 1,024 daily flights.
The SKYTRAX World Airline Awards, held annually, are widely regarded as one of the most prestigious awards in civil aviation. The rankings are based on reviews from millions of passengers worldwide, assessing service, comfort, and quality.
