The Presidency of the Republic of Türkiye condemns Israel’s attack on television crews in Haifa (Egypt)

Head of Communications of the Presidency of the Republic of Türkiye, Fahrettin Altun, condemned the Israeli police's attack on television crews, including the TRT Arabi Channel team, which took place on Tuesday.

In his post on the X platform, Altun stated, "The Israeli government, unfortunately, continues its lawless actions directed against the journalists who cry out to all humanity about the massacres it has committed.

The live broadcast of TRT Arabic correspondent Fehmi Shtewe and his team from the city of Haifa was cut off by the Israeli police, and their equipment was seized—this is the latest manifestation of this insanity."

Altun concluded his statement by saying, "We leave it to global public opinion to judge the silence of the West and its 'democratic' institutions regarding these violations, particularly if and when Israel is the perpetrator, ascribing no significance to any norms or values and completely disregarding them."

On Monday evening, Israeli police raided the locations of television crews in Haifa, including that of the Turkish channel TRT Arabic.

The raid was conducted in line with the instructions given to the police and intelligence by the Minister of National Security of Israel, Itamar Ben-Gvir, to prevent live broadcasts from foreign channels.

On Monday, Israel's far-right Minister of National Security, Itamar Ben-Gvir, urged the Israeli Internal Security Service (Shin Bet) to act against foreign television channels deemed a threat to state security.
