The Presidency’s Directorate of Communications characterised the rising tensions in the region due to attacks involving the United States, Israel, and Iran as unacceptable. The Directorate urged citizens to rely on information released by official institutions and to remain cautious against false news and manipulative content.
The Presidency's Head of Communications, Prof Burhanettin Duran, stated in his post: "The escalation of tensions between the United States, Israel, and Iran into a war and its potential regional spillover are unacceptable. This is a serious cause for concern for both regional and global peace. The events we are witnessing threaten not only the countries directly involved in the conflict but also the stability and security of a wider region, as well as civilians. Therefore, negotiation mechanisms must be reactivated."
Duran emphasised that the fundamental stance of Türkiye and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has always been to ensure lasting peace, establish regional security, and seek a solution based on international law.
The statement underscored that "Türkiye will continue to fulfil its responsible role in reducing tensions, protecting civilians, and ensuring the effective functioning of diplomatic channels."
The Head of Communications also noted that all state institutions in Türkiye are closely monitoring developments and continuing to take the necessary measures to ensure the safety of citizens.
Prof Burhanettin Duran further stated, "During this period, the Directorate of Communications continues its fight against fake news and attempts at provocation."
He also advised citizens to trust officially shared information and to be particularly cautious about news they encounter, especially on digital media.
