The 20th Goodness Ship, carrying approximately 1,400 tonnes of humanitarian aid destined for Gaza from Ankara, has arrived at El Arish Port. Humanitarian aid materials, prepared by the Turkish Red Crescent and comprising food, hygiene, clothing, shelter, and baby supplies, are being handed over to the Egyptian Red Crescent for dispatch to Gaza via the Port of El Arish.
Speaking in El Arish, Türkiye’s Ambassador to Cairo, Salih Mutlu Şen, stated that they had received the 20th Goodness Ship, dispatched to meet the needs of the oppressed and affected people in Gaza. Ambassador Şen noted that the bodies of the Board of Peace—of which Türkiye is a signatory—have now been established and expressed his expectation that humanitarian aid shipments from Türkiye would be carried out more frequently in the forthcoming period.
Şen also said he believes that during Ramadan, the Turkish people will make more donations and that more aid materials will be supplied through AFAD, the Turkish Red Crescent, and associations and foundations.
The Turkish Ambassador, expressing their eagerness for the mutual opening of the Rafah Border Crossing, emphasised that once the gate is opened, humanitarian aid efforts on the ground will accelerate, and in cooperation with Egypt, aid activities, including in the health sector, will intensify.
Ambassador Şen also stated that their greatest wish is for Gazans in Egypt to return to their homes safely, with dignity, and swiftly.
Ambassador Şen thanked all Egyptian authorities, particularly the Ministry of Interior, the Egyptian Red Crescent, the Suez Canal Economic Zone, and the North Sinai Governorate, for their cooperation and support in ongoing humanitarian aid efforts.
