Minister of Information Dr. Hamza al-Mustafa received a phone call from Prof. Burhanettin Duran, Presidency's Head of Communications of the Republic of Türkiye. During the phone call, Duran underscored the importance of enhancing media cooperation against systematic rumours, misinformation and disinformation campaigns, while reaffirming Türkiye’s principled stance in support of the unity of Syria’s territorial integrity and the unity of its people. Duran commended the efforts of Syrian media in ensuring the accurate transmission of information and in facilitating the work of news agencies and press organisations.
Al-Mustafa, in turn, expressed his appreciation for Türkiye’s stance in support of the Syrian people and their national choices, stressing that Syria’s policy is based on the following principles: one country, one government, one army.
Al-Mustafa noted that the state has consistently pursued political and negotiated solutions to address the crises left behind by the ousted regime and stated that he welcomes all joint efforts aimed at countering misleading content and presenting an accurate picture of developments on the ground. He further highlighted the facilities extended by the state to journalists, stating that free access to information from official sources, freedom of movement, and the ability to conduct on-the-ground reporting are ensured.
