Prime Minister Keir Starmer of the United Kingdom and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan of Türkiye signed an agreement on Türkiye's purchase of 20 Eurofighter jets in Ankara, Türkiye's capital.
The deal is valued at 8 billion pounds (8.5 billion Swiss francs at the current exchange rate).
Türkiye is modernising its air force and wants to focus on European-made military aircraft produced by the consortium formed by the UK, Germany, Italy, and Spain.
In a joint press conference with the British Prime Minister in Ankara, broadcast on TRT, President Erdoğan said, "We have signed the necessary agreements regarding the purchase of Eurofighter Typhoon jets."
