President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan of Türkiye met with President Mahmoud Abbas of Palestine, who was on a state visit to Türkiye.
The two leaders held a joint press conference and discussed a number of issues, including the latest developments in the Palestinian-Israeli issue as well as bilateral relations.
Erdoğan remarked that it is unacceptable that Israel continues to massacre Palestinians with support from the West, disregarding the interim injunction issued by the International Court of Justice (ICJ).
Türkiye will continue to provide Palestine with medical assistance, said Erdoğan.
Erdoğan noted that lasting peace cannot be struck in the Middle East unless the Palestinian-Israeli conflict is resolved equitably.
Mahmoud Abbas emphasised that the Gaza Strip is an integral part of Palestine and stated that any Israeli plan regarding the occupied territories is not acceptable.
Expressing his hope for Palestine to promptly attain membership in the United Nations, Abbas urged the international community to guarantee the security of the Palestinian people.
Abbas voiced his gratitude to Türkiye for the assistance it offered to the Palestinian people.
