The Directorate of Communications of the Presidency of the Republic of Türkiye announced that President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan held a phone call with President Emmanuel Macron of France.
During the call, Türkiye-France relations, as well as regional and global issues, were addressed.
Erdoğan described the European Union’s easing of sanctions on Syria as a "highly appropriate step" and emphasised that, at this new stage, the sanctions should be lifted entirely. Erdoğan reiterated Türkiye’s commitment to providing uninterrupted assistance to Syria.
Addressing the Palestine-Israel conflict, Erdoğan stressed the need to maintain the ceasefire between Hamas and Israel and to promote a resolution that fosters lasting peace.
Erdoğan also highlighted the importance of strengthening dialogue between Türkiye and France, stating that this would contribute to the enhancement of bilateral relations. He particularly emphasised the potential for cooperation between the two countries in the defence industry.
