President Serdar Berdimuhamedov of Turkmenistan met with the Minister of Energy and Natural Resources of the Republic of Türkiye, Alparslan Bayraktar, who is visiting the country to attend the international conference on "International Year of Peace and Trust: The Role of Interregional Economic Cooperation in Ensuring Sustainable Development".
During the meeting, Alparslan Bayraktar conveyed the greetings of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and emphasised the significance of cooperation between the two countries. President Serdar Berdimuhamedov expressed his belief that the outcomes of the forum will strengthen bilateral cooperation, especially in the energy sector.
The parties emphasised that Turkmen-Turkish relations are based on solid foundations and cover political, economic and cultural spheres. In the meeting, it was highlighted that Türkiye stands as one of Turkmenistan's major trading partners and plays an active role in significant infrastructure projects, including the delivery of Turkmen natural gas and the construction of a combined cycle power plant.
President Serdar Berdimuhamedov reiterated Turkmenistan's readiness to enhance collaboration in the energy sector and to evaluate Turkish proposals. At the end of the meeting, both parties reiterated their trust in the continued advancement of the bilateral partnership for the mutual benefit of both nations.
