During the meeting with King Felipe VI of Spain, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan of Türkiye noted that the genocidal policies of Israel must end.
The meeting in Madrid covered Türkiye-Spain relations, Israel's atrocities in Gaza as well as regional and global developments, as reported by the Presidency's Directorate of Communications.
During the meeting, Erdoğan voiced his belief that Türkiye-Spain relations will develop and deepen further.
He emphasised that the steps to be taken in all fields, from expanding trade volume between Türkiye and Spain to cooperation in the defence industry, will benefit both countries.
Stating that the genocidal policies of the Israeli administration in the Palestinian territories must end as soon as possible, Erdoğan emphasised that the steps taken by Spain in this regard and its support for Palestine are critical.
Erdoğan pointed out that the growing international pressure on Israel in this process could lead to lasting peace in the region.
During the meeting, Erdoğan expressed his desire to extend a warm invitation to King Felipe to visit Türkiye at the earliest opportunity.
According to a statement released by the Presidency, Erdoğan travelled to Spain to attend the 8th Intergovernmental Summit between the two countries.
