President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan of Türkiye announced that the 2026 NATO Summit will be held in the capital, Ankara.
During a press conference following the cabinet meeting, Erdoğan said that the 2026 NATO Summit is scheduled to take place in Ankara in July 2026, where Türkiye will welcome the leaders of NATO member nations.
President Erdoğan also made remarks regarding the NATO Summit he attended this year. Erdoğan stated that Türkiye has requested the removal of restrictions on the trading of defence sector products inside the NATO alliance framework.
Türkiye, a NATO member since 1952, is distinguished by its geographical location bridging Europe and the Middle East, its robust regional economy, and its impact on stability in Eastern Europe and the Middle East.
