President of Türkiye speaks by phone with President of France, addressing developments in Russia, Ukraine, and Gaza (China)

According to a statement from the Presidency of Türkiye, President Erdoğan engaged in a telephone conversation with President Macron of France at the request of the French side.

The two sides exchanged views on Türkiye-France bilateral relations, the Russia-Ukraine peace process, the situation in Gaza, and other regional and global issues.

President Erdoğan stated that Türkiye is making continuous efforts to resolve the Russia-Ukraine conflict in a just and peaceful manner and has been closely following the parties' recent interactions in Alaska and Washington.

President Erdoğan expressed Türkiye's readiness to host any initiative concerning the peace talks between Ukraine and Russia.

In discussing the situation in Gaza, Erdoğan highlighted Türkiye's commitment to facilitating a ceasefire and underscored the necessity of halting Israel's arbitrary attitude that contribute to the escalation of its occupation plans in the region.

Erdoğan also emphasised that Türkiye attaches great importance to cooperation with France and will continue to encourage the growth of bilateral ties in various areas, such as the defence industry.
