President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan of Türkiye met with President Nechirvan Barzani of IKRG at the Presidential Complex.
During the meeting, Türkiye-Iraq relations, cooperation between Türkiye and the Kurdish regional administration, and matters concerning regional development were discussed.
Erdoğan stressed that Türkiye is determined to contribute to regional peace and stability, stating that it is of great importance for Iraq not to be dragged into a spiral of violence. Erdoğan stated that Türkiye is closely monitoring the steps taken by the IKRG in this regard.
Expressing his satisfaction with the agreement reached between the central Iraqi government and the Kurdish Regional Administration in the oil sector, Erdoğan stated that reaching a swift consensus on the "Development Road" project would be beneficial for the entire region.
Erdoğan reiterated Türkiye's determination in the fight against terrorism, emphasising that they expect the IKRG to maintain its support for Syria's territorial integrity.
The Head of the National Intelligence Organisation, the Presidency's Head of Communications, and the President's chief advisors on foreign policy and security also attended the meeting.
