President of Türkiye: Gaza is an inseparable part of Palestine… It is necessary to declare an immediate ceasefire (South Korea)

On September 22, 2025, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan of Türkiye called for "the declaration of an immediate ceasefire" in response to Israel’s ongoing hostilities in Gaza.

According to the Embassy of Türkiye in Seoul, President Erdoğan attended the "High-level International Conference for the Peaceful Settlement of the Question of Palestine and the Implementation of the Two-State Solution," held at the United Nations General Assembly Hall on that day.

Reminding that a major humanitarian crisis has been unfolding in Gaza for nearly two years due to Israel's hostilities, Erdoğan said, "The goal of the Netanyahu government is to render the establishment of a Palestinian state impossible and force the Palestinian people to emigrate as much as possible."

Calling for an immediate ceasefire, Erdoğan emphasised, "It is now necessary to declare a ceasefire, ensure the unhindered flow of humanitarian aid to Gaza, and for Israel to withdraw its forces from Gaza. Gaza is an inseparable part of Palestine and belongs to the Palestinians."

"Palestinians themselves will determine how they govern their territories," stated Erdoğan, adding, "It is also high time for Palestine to become a full member of the United Nations."

Erdoğan went on to note, "It is crucial to enhance Palestine’s national capacity, expand financial and technical support, and maintain the operations of humanitarian aid organisations such as UNRWA." Erdoğan added, "We, as Türkiye, will resolutely continue our efforts until the establishment of a Palestinian state based on the 1967 borders, with territorial integrity and al-Quds as its capital."

France and Saudi Arabia co-chaired the high-level international conference, which took place a day before the United Nations General Assembly. The United Nations General Assembly is set to convene to discuss in depth the situation in Gaza caused by Israeli actions.
