President Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan received Türkiye's Minister of National Defence, Yaşar Güler.
According to AZERTAC's report, President Ilham Aliyev extended his congratulations regarding the dissolution of the terrorist organisation PKK and said that he personally congratulated President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan of Türkiye. Describing the dissolution of the PKK as a historic event, the President of Azerbaijan expressed his delight about this development and said that the political will of the President of Türkiye played the most important role in this matter. Aliyev also emphasised that the strength of the Turkish state, the professional campaign of the brotherly country's Armed Forces against terrorists, and the unity among Turkish society were among the fundamental factors leading to the terrorist organisation's decision to take this step. President Aliyev stated that this is a significant issue not only for Türkiye but also for the peace and tranquillity of the region's peoples as a whole.
Thanking President Aliyev for his congratulations, Minister Yaşar Güler conveyed Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's greetings to President Aliyev. President Ilham Aliyev expressed his gratitude and requested that his regards be conveyed to the President of Türkiye.
Recalling that a historical lesson was given to Armenian terrorists a few years ago with the strong will of the President of Azerbaijan, Minister Güler stated that Türkiye has emerged victorious from its 41-year struggle against terrorism. Minister Yaşar Güler expressed his belief that peace will prevail in Türkiye from now on and mentioned the importance of this development for the region.
The Minister of National Defence of Türkiye said that they will continue to make the best efforts to expand relations with the Azerbaijani Armed Forces in the future.
During the meeting, productive cooperation established between the Azerbaijani and Turkish Armed Forces was mentioned, and the successful completion of joint military exercises was emphasised.
It was expressed that the brotherhood and alliance between Azerbaijan and Türkiye will continue to develop in all areas, including the military, and the role of the close relations between the two Heads of State in further strengthening these relations was underlined.
Moreover, views were exchanged on cooperation perspectives.
