President Erdoğan labels the Israeli aggression as one of the worst genocides of the century.

The Turkish TV Channel CNN-Turk reported that President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan of Türkiye today labelled the "Israeli aggression" in the Gaza Strip as "one of the worst genocides of the century."

President Erdoğan stated, "One of the most brutal genocides of our century is unfolding in the Gaza Strip." According to the Turkish President, one of the most effective responses to Israel's "Zionist aggression" against Gaza and Lebanon would be the recognition of Palestine by as many states as possible.

He called on the Islamic world's nations to "set aside their differences and support the Palestinian and Lebanese people in their just struggle." President Erdoğan stated that since the beginning of the crisis in Gaza, Türkiye has delivered more than 85,000 tonnes of humanitarian aid to the region through Egypt.

The Turkish President noted that his country has suspended trade with Israel and has joined the lawsuit initiated by the Republic of South Africa against Israel at the International Court of Justice and said, "We have entirely halted trade with Israel, resulting in a sacrifice of $9.5 billion in trade value. We are committed to taking all necessary measures to ensure that those responsible for acts of genocide are held accountable under international law. We have stated our position on a variety of international platforms, particularly at the United Nations."
