President Erdoğan and Prime Minister of the UK hold phone call (Iran)

In a phone conversation between the President of Türkiye and the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, bilateral relations, regional and global issues, and the dire humanitarian situation in Gaza were discussed.

According to information obtained, President of Türkiye Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer held a phone call during which they discussed bilateral relations as well as regional and global matters.

According to a statement by the Presidency’s Directorate of Communications of the Republic of Türkiye, the progress made regarding the procurement of Eurofighter jets was reviewed during the call, and it was noted that these developments would contribute positively to cooperation between Türkiye and the United Kingdom.

During the conversation, President Erdoğan expressed his hope that negotiations on updating the free trade agreement between Ankara and London would yield results within this year.

President Erdoğan also stated during the call: “The humanitarian situation in Gaza is dire, deaths from starvation are inevitable, and humanitarian aid must be allowed into Gaza without delay.”
