The Presidency's Head of Communications, Burhanettin Duran, stated that Türkiye will support the Palestinian people in all areas, particularly by ensuring the delivery of urgent humanitarian aid to Gaza and upholding the ceasefire agreement.
Duran made the statement in a post on Türkiye’s NSosyal platform on Thursday. In the statement, he said they welcomed the agreement reached between Israel and Hamas on the first phase of U.S. President Donald Trump’s plan to end the war in Gaza and implement a prisoner exchange.
He noted that the efforts of the countries involved in reaching the agreement, including Türkiye, were commendable.
Duran underlined the need for all parties to adhere to the terms of the agreement, ensure the delivery of urgent humanitarian assistance to Gaza, and put an end to the disgraceful situation that has persisted there for two years.
The Turkish official stressed that Ankara, under the leadership of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, will fulfil its responsibilities in the new phase of the process.
“We will support the Palestinian people in every field, particularly the delivery of humanitarian aid to Gaza and compliance with the ceasefire terms, and work to heal the wounds in Gaza,” Duran said, emphasising that lasting peace and stability in the region can only be achieved through a two-state solution based on the 1967 borders.
