Home to countless civilisations over millennia, Anatolia continues to reveal its ancient secrets. Thanks to extensive archaeological excavations across Türkiye, two statues of Emperor Hadrian, a statue depicting the god Pan, and various reliefs of gods were found, along with restored fountains that still flow in the ancient cities of Kibyra and Sagalassos in Burdur.
At the ancient city of Aspendos in Antalya, excavations uncovered a 2.20-metre-tall marble statue group depicting Asclepius, the god of medicine, alongside his son Telesphorus. The sculpture dates to the 2nd century AD.
Meanwhile, in the ancient city of Sardis in Manisa, a remarkably well-preserved colossal statue of a young man, 2.2 metres high and dating to the 5th century BC, was found. This statue will soon be accessible to visitors at the Manisa Museum.
