Turkish Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Fatih Dönmez stated that the natural gas reserves discovered would meet the gas need of Türkiye for 35 years.
“Our discovery has currently reached 710 billion cubic meters. These reserves will be sufficient for us to provide all residences with natural gas for a period of 35 years. With processing facilities included, the discovery will suffice to meet the need for 15-20 years”, said Dönmez. The Minister added that the cost of natural gas to be extracted from Turkish natural gas sites in the Black Sea would be lower than the cost of imported natural gas.
