More than 455,000 residences built in areas affected by 2023 earthquake in Türkiye (TASS)

More than 455,000 residences have been built in the southeastern region of Türkiye, which was struck by an earthquake in February 2023. This statement was made by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan of Türkiye during a ceremony to hand over the keys to the new houses to local residents.

Erdoğan stated, "14 million of our citizens were affected by this disaster, and thousands of buildings collapsed. We faced damages exceeding 150 billion dollars in value.

We promised to hand over the keys to 453,000 residences to our brothers and sisters affected by the earthquakes by the end of the year. As of today, we have completed the construction of 455,357 residences. In Hatay, we have built 153,755 residences and workplaces, the keys of which we have handed over to the people of the region today."
