Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Republic of Türkiye: “We welcome the progress achieved towards establishing a lasting peace between Azerbaijan and Armenia” (Armenia)

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Türkiye issued a written statement regarding the peace process between Azerbaijan and Armenia.

The statement read, "We welcome the progress achieved towards establishing a lasting peace between Azerbaijan and Armenia, and the commitment recorded in Washington today in this regard."

The statement in question states that, at a time when international conflicts and crises are intensifying, this step constitutes a highly significant development for the promotion of regional peace and stability. Additionally, gratitude for the contributions of the US administration to the process was expressed.

The statement also notes that a historic opportunity has emerged for the South Caucasus to attain peace and prosperity and that, "As Türkiye, we will continue to contribute to the efforts aimed at realising this opportunity and support the dedicated endeavours of our brotherly Azerbaijan."

Following the trilateral summit at the White House led by US President Donald Trump, President Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan and Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan of Armenia signed a joint declaration.
