The Directorate of Communications of the Presidency of the Republic of Türkiye organised the "Hacı Bektaş Veli Commemoration Events International Media Programme" in the Hacıbektaş district of Nevşehir province.
The Directorate of Communications announced that the programme in question offered international media representatives the opportunity to become closely acquainted with Bektashism, a key element of the shared cultural and religious heritage that emerged in Anatolia and, over time, spread to various regions, particularly the Balkans.
Twenty journalists from Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, North Macedonia, Serbia, and Greece attended the two-day event.
On the first day of the programme, international media representatives attended the Hacı Bektaş Veli Commemoration Ceremony, held in Hacıbektaş. As part of the programme, journalists heard addresses from Minister of Culture and Tourism Mehmet Nuri Ersoy, Head of the Presidency of Alevi-Bektashi Culture and Cemevis Esma Ersin, and Nevşehir Governor Hüseyin Kök. On the second day of the programme, the Presidency of Alevi-Bektashi Culture and Cemevis organised a press conference for representatives of the international print and electronic media.
During the meeting, the Presidency of Alevi-Bektashi Culture and Cemevis briefed participants on Alevi-Bektashi culture, the Bektashi tradition and its activities, and answered questions from members of the press. The programme concluded with a visit to the Hacı Bektaş Veli Complex and Museum.
Through this event, international media representatives had the opportunity to experience first-hand the mission and thought of Hacı Bektaş Veli, as well as the historical and contemporary manifestations of the shared cultural heritage extending from Anatolia to the Balkans.
