Resuming the İstanbul process to resolve the conflict in Ukraine, as per a source from the Presidency of Türkiye who spoke to our agency, could potentially facilitate the establishment of a ceasefire. In any case, Ankara is willing to act as a mediator.
The source revealed, "The parties came very close to a ceasefire during the talks in İstanbul, as our President (Recep Tayyip Erdoğan) has reiterated. Per our President's suggestion, the revival of the İstanbul process has the potential to foster a sustainable ceasefire amidst a global conflict that impacts the whole world including our region. On multiple occasions, Ankara has communicated its willingness to provide any assistance necessary to resolve the conflict."
