Türkiye showcased its first intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM), named 'Yıldırımhan', at the SAHA 2026 defence exhibition currently taking place in İstanbul.
According to Turkish media reports, the ICBM, developed by the R&D Centre of the Ministry of National Defence of Türkiye, can strike targets up to 6,000 kilometres away at Mach 25, which is 25 times the speed of sound.
It was reported that 'Yıldırımhan' is equipped with four rocket thrusters fuelled by liquid nitrogen tetroxide and is, therefore, considered one of Türkiye’s most advanced missile platforms.
This missile was introduced at the SAHA 2026 International Defence and Aerospace Exhibition in İstanbul, which showcases the latest technologies across various fields developed by Türkiye’s leading defence industry companies and state institutions.
Experts say that the unveiling of Yıldırımhan comes at a time when Türkiye is making major investments in missile systems, unmanned aerial vehicles, air defence, aviation, and space technologies to expand its defence industry.
