Ankara, the capital city of the Republic of Türkiye, has been the political, diplomatic, and cultural hub of the country for many years. This dynamic city blends a rich history with modern development, encompassing modern institutions and a thriving diplomatic life, as well as antiquities and museums that have witnessed a millennia-old civilisation. As the Turkish state's hallmark, Ankara is an ideal place for hosting high-level meetings that shape the future of international cooperation.
In this distinctive milieu, the Hayat TV delegation, led by Director-General Elvir Švrakić, conducted an official visit to the Republic of Türkiye. The host of this important visit is the Directorate of Communications of the Republic of Türkiye, a key institution established under the presidential system of government in 2018. The Directorate coordinates Türkiye's comprehensive communication strategy, promotes the country globally, strengthens public diplomacy, and actively combats disinformation. Under the leadership of Head of Communications Burhanettin Duran, this institution serves as a modern and proactive platform that combines the Turkish state's traditional experience with modern communication tools, contributing to Türkiye's recognition as the beacon of peace, stability, and truth in international relations.
The visit was marked by constructive and meaningful talks. Hayat TV's delegation met with representatives of the Directorate of Communications and later with Communications Specialist Çilem Erzi of the International Media Coordination Office. The talks took place in an exceptionally cordial and professional atmosphere, with an exchange of views on important issues such as media cooperation, public diplomacy, and the challenges of the modern information space.
The presentation of the Directorate of Communications' Centre for Combating Disinformation made a lasting impression. Subject-matter expert Ömer Erçin delivered an in-depth presentation.
The guests from Hayat TV had the opportunity to learn about Türkiye's advanced mechanisms to detect and combat fake news, which is crucial for maintaining media integrity and audience trust today.
"This visit constitutes a significant step towards strengthening the cooperation between Hayat TV and Turkish institutions. The vision and efficiency of the Directorate were inspiring. And we believe that cooperation will be conducive to tangible results in the struggle for truth, which we endorse, and will foster mutual understanding," Hayat TV Director-General Elvir Švrakić said.
The visit will continue with events at a number of key institutions that will not only further strengthen ties between the Bosnian and Turkish media but also open up new horizons for cooperation.
