G20… Lula and Erdoğan discuss strengthening bilateral relations

President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva of Brazil held a bilateral meeting with President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan of Türkiye as part of the G20 Leaders' Summit held on Monday and Tuesday in Rio de Janeiro.

This was announced in a written statement by the Brazilian government. The statement noted that Erdoğan proposed the establishment of a high-level council to strengthen bilateral relations and collaborations in various sectors, particularly civil aviation, defence, construction, and energy, with a focus on the new PAC (Growth Acceleration Program).

The statement also said, "Lula invited the Turkish President for an official visit to Brazil and expressed his desire to visit Türkiye to further deepen relations between the two countries."
