Head of Communications of the Presidency of the Republic of Türkiye Fahrettin Altun congratulated the media members working around the world in light of accuracy, dignity, and truth on January 10, Working Journalists' Day, and wished them success in their work.
According to a statement released by the Office of the Communications Counsellor of the Embassy of the Republic of Türkiye in Sarajevo, Altun said in his message, "I highly appreciate the contributions of our media members who work devotedly in the national and international arena to raise social awareness and foster a healthy communication culture. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all journalists who are spearheading the light of truth."
Altun expressed his deep sadness over the deaths of hundreds of journalists and the numerous injuries sustained during the humanitarian tragedy in Gaza.
Altun said, "We once again condemn the targeting and indiscriminate massacre of journalists as well as other civilians in the conflict zone."
He said he wished Allah's mercy upon the media members who lost their lives in the line of duty and a speedy recovery to the injured.
Altun stated, "As the Directorate of Communications of the Presidency of the Republic of Türkiye, we will continue to work to improve the working conditions for media members and to spearhead innovations to support the media sector."
Altun said that they would always stand by journalists and provide them with any assistance they require.
