Today, a significant step has been taken in bringing the realities of the Turkic world to the attention of the international community and combating misinformation about the Turkic world. I believe that the Alliance of Turkic News Agencies (ATNA) will undertake significant endeavours.
As reported by AZERTAC (Azerbaijan State News Agency), Presidency's Director of Communications Fahrettin Altun delivered this statement to Azerbaijani media in Istanbul.
Fahrettin Altun expressed confidence that ATNA will accelerate the development of cooperation in the field of media thanks to the joint efforts of the five member states of the Organisation of Turkic States.
"Currently, we live in a world where there is a full-blown struggle for information, which unfortunately often results in the dissemination of misinformation. Our primary duty encompasses countering disinformation in addition to communicating news to the world," said Altun.
Fahrettin Altun emphasised the significance of the Organisation of Turkic States (OTS) as a key international platform amidst the current challenging circumstances, noting: "It is our belief that the OTS will significantly contribute to the upholding of global stability, peace, and prosperity in the world. This has consistently been expressed by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan of Türkiye."
Altun further stated, "It has come to our attention that our vision of the 'Century of Türkiye' and the 'Century of the Turkic World' that were proposed at the last summit of our heads of state coincide. We will proceed with our efforts in the area of media with this approach in mind."
