President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan of the Republic of Türkiye on Thursday urged the international community to fulfil its obligations to the people of Gaza.
Speaking at the joint press conference with the President Ukhnaa Khurelsukh of Mongolia in Ankara, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan stated that "the Israeli government must not be allowed to violate the ceasefire."
Erdoğan highlighted that the world "must fulfil its legal and moral obligations to the people of Gaza."
Erdoğan stated that "Despite more than 50 thousand martyrs, the majority of whom were women and children, Gaza refused to surrender, could not be taken over, and the Gazans did not yield to the oppressors."
The Turkish President underscored the urgency of humanity's obligation to uphold the ceasefire and to exert even greater effort in order to heal the wounds suffered in Gaza.
Erdoğan said, "Türkiye believes that the peace negotiations for the establishment of an independent and sovereign Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital should be launched immediately."
Khurelsukh lauded "Türkiye's endeavours to establish peace both on a global and regional scale."
On Thursday, Erdoğan received Khurelsukh, who had arrived in Türkiye on Wednesday for a five-day official visit, at the Presidential Complex.
