In his opening remarks at the inauguration of the Iğdır-Nakhchivan gas pipeline held through a video conference in Ankara, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan of Türkiye stated that Türkiye and Azerbaijan favoured peace and stability while emphasising that they were striving towards peace and cooperation in the region.
The President of Türkiye underlined that the brotherly relations were progressing and developing in various directions, from defence to trade, with the maxim "one nation, two states." Erdoğan said, "We want only peace and cooperation and to develop all together in our region. To that end, we have thus far taken many steps.
We have shown our sincerity, and we are determined to all together realise any kind of project aimed at regional peace, prosperity and calm. Just as the brotherly Azerbaijan stood with us during the February 6 earthquakes, Türkiye has also stood and will stand with Azerbaijan if necessary."
Aliyev arrived in Ankara yesterday and the inauguration ceremony of the Iğdır-Nakhchivan gas pipeline between Türkiye and Azerbaijan was held. Erdoğan announced that the project would ensure Nakhchivan's energy security. Aliyev also stated that joint energy projects paved the way for the realisation of major transportation initiatives.
