Erdoğan: Target of 60 million tourists in 2024 remains unchanged

Türkiye aims to welcome 60 million tourists by the end of 2024 and generate $60 billion in tourism revenue, as stated by the President of Türkiye, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, during a speech in Istanbul, according to TRT Haber.

President Erdoğan shared the following details: "As of the end of July, the number of tourists visiting our country has reached 35 million. Our target of hosting 60 million tourists and achieving $60 billion in tourism revenue by the end of 2024 remains in place."

He also recalled that in 2023, Türkiye hosted 56.7 million tourists, generating $56 billion in tourism revenue.

In 2023, Russian nationals ranked first among foreign visitors to Türkiye, with 6.3 million Russians visiting the country. Estimates suggest that the number of Russian tourists may rise to seven million in 2024.
